Nazis Disrupt Pride Parade in Detroit With Police Assistance. Once Again: Defend Your Space.
Armed fascists with a police escort were allowed to parade outside “Motor City Pride” on June 8th. Once again we see the failure of “progressives” or people who have been targeted for brutal and extreme acts of violence to claim and defend their space. Once again, we see the need for professionalization, military style discipline, and organization of all progressive forces and targeted communities into a united front. Detroit is a majority black city in the Rust Belt, gentrifiers have been at work but it still, for the most part, retains its proletarian/semi-proletarian New Afrikan character. In essence, this is part of our national territory as Black people, meaning that we need to defend it and build up a structure that provides material benefits for our people along with developing a people’s army/militia and Communist Party. The fact that armed Nazis, with the police or otherwise, feel free to parade around openly, is an unforgivable weakness. The Left in this country is far behind the right in terms of military discipline and organization. We spend more time trying to see what everyone else that is ostensibly Left is doing while allowing the enemy space to develop and intrude into our spaces. A safe space is not built with a sticker, or a poster, it is built through force of arms alone. Every fascist provocation should be responded to like the attempted Ku Klux Klan action in Dayton was last month, with armed force.
Revolutionary forces that were attending the event commendably mobilized to help drive the fascists away through music and other media. This was a good thing. But we have to act as soldiers at war. These provocations are purposeful and mindful, they aren’t just random. The enemy seeks to test our strength, take advantage of our weaknesses, sow discord, and maneuver. This is a war. Many who call themselves communists do not take seriously the fact that these people wish to harm us, our families, our comrades, and our people. They see violence as an abstract thing, something from the pages of books or movies. They believe that revolution can be peaceful, and guillotines, bullets, and rifles are things of the savage past. There are historical laws that we adhere to as Marxists, one of them is the universality of revolutionary violence. Our enemies are violent. The State that we seek to overturn is violent. This is not book violence or meme violence, this is 20 shots delivered through your bedroom window, a bomb in your mailbox. This is Fred Hampton shot in the head in front of his pregnant wife. This is the Black Panther Party Headquarters in LA being fortified and the comrades having to hold off the pigs with military precision. All who consider themselves revolutionaries and Communists should introspect, study the history of our predecessors and the enemies of our predecessors, investigate and learn about the forces that we fight today, and really, deeply, seriously reaffirm their principles and learn what it means to truly be Communist.
The people at Motor City Pride wanted to have fun. There is no fun under fascism. Put down the beads and beer and get a gun.
